Nursery
Welcome to our Nursery class page. Our first Nursery Class of 26 full time pre school pupils started at Drumlins Integrated Primary in September 2025. Our Nursery Unit is a bright and airy space with an interactive whiteboard, direct access to the outside play and learning spaces and a quiet room. The pre school day is from 9am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday and there is wraparound care available in the form of Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club.
We enjoy a great balance of indoor and outdoor learning, and take pride on following the lead and interest of the children in our class. Being in the heart of the school gives us greater opportunities to share and access a wider range of resources. This also gives the children opportunities to develop friendships not only with other children outside of their classroom, but also the adults in the main school, which will help the children make an easy transition into Primary 1 when the time comes, should they choose to stay with us at Drumlins.
Our daily timetable can change depending on if we have visitors or other events on, but generally follows the following routine:
9am: Door opens for children, children come in to self-register and indoor play begins.
9.15am: Morning Meeting - we discuss the weather, our plans for the day, and introduce any new learning activities. Return to play.
10am: Snack is served at the snack table.
10.45am: Outdoor play time. Children put on their own coats, wellies and waterproofs as needed.
12.00 - 12.20pm: Fine motor skill activities / Outdoor Play continues
12.20 - 12.40pm: Quiet room time for stories, songs and rhymes.
12.45 - 1.15pm: Lunch time - in the hall along with P1, 2 and 3 .
1.20pm: Return to classroom and children are dismissed.
