Drumlins

INTEGRATED PRIMARY SCHOOL

Principal's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Drumlins Integrated Primary School.  We hope that this website will provide you with some of the background to how our school came about, our current position and enrolment, and our hopes and plans for the future growth of the school which includes the opening of our new nursery unit in September 2025.

Drumlins Integrated Primary School opened in temporary accommodation in Cedar IPS, Crossgar in September 2004 with 12 Primary One pupils and full Department of Education funding.  In September 2005 we were happy to move to Ballynahinch, again to temporary accommodation which had been specially designed and built to meet our specific needs.

We have over 200 children enrolled at the school.  Our numbers for the future are very healthy and we are very excited to offer Integrated Education in Ballynahinch.

At Drumlins IPS we pride ourselves in providing a child-centred approach to learning where each child is valued as an individual and is provided with the support and encouragement to develop at their own ability level to reach their full potential.

We strive to allow each child to develop as an individual and to take pride in being part of the school community. We work together to create a warm, caring and inclusive school environment where staff and children work co-operatively with one another. Our aim is to allow children to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, morally and spiritually through a supportive environment.

At the school we have a dynamic and motivated staff team and we greatly value our relationships with our pupils and their families.  By working together through a child-centred approach, we empower our pupils to be the best that they can be.

I hope this information will encourage you to visit the school and see for yourself what we have to offer.  We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Drumlins Integrated Primary School.
